Frequently Asked Questions

Can I video tape my baby's birth? Yes. Sturgis Hospital will allow you to video tape any natural birth in our birthing rooms. However, video taping is not allowed during caesarian deliveries.
When will our baby boy be circumcised? Circumcisions are performed at the Sturgis Hospital within 24 hours of a baby's delivery, before they are released.
When should we go to the hospital? ALWAYS discuss this with your OB doctor. You and/or your baby may need to be monitored as soon as contractions start or as soon as your water breaks if you have certain risk factors. Your doctor will instruct you as to when he/she feels you should go to the hospital.
Can we pre-register at the Hospital? You will still need to check in when you reach the Hospital for delivery, but you can make the process more efficient by providing your personal and insurance information ahead of time.
